VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
How You Can Help the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation

There are many ways in which you can offer your time and talents to benefit the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation (SSPF).

Become a “Hero for Hope” by organizing a fundraising event in your area, with proceeds going to the Foundation.  Consider a letter writing campaign, bake sale, car wash, chili cook off, scavenger hunt, home party or your own creative idea.  You will soon realize that you do have your own special talents and can indeed help create a better world.  When you become a Hero for Hope, along with your packet of information which explains the program in detail you will receive a membership card, a certificate, and a special Racing to Recovery pin.

Become a volunteer as we grow our Walk/Run/Wheelathon fundraising program in 2010.  The two Walk/Run/Wheelathons held in 2009 were so successful that we anticipate expanding the program to more locations next year.

The Foundation continues its involvement in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC #11724).  Beginning in September, the CFC holds campaigns in cities across the country to encourage federal employees to sign up for their payroll deduction program which supports specific charities.  SSPF is invited to participate in the campaigns; however, since the Foundation is located in New Jersey we must depend upon local volunteers to represent us in other areas.  Volunteers are needed to distribute literature to attendees at the campaigns.

Establish a Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation Chapter in your area.  We invite people with talent, energy and passion to help make a difference.  You, your friends, associates, neighbors and family can establish a chapter and raise money to help us fund research to find cures and treatments for paralysis.  The research also benefits those with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases as well as stroke victims.
